Trust is a Keystone

Starting out in a new role at a job, and sharing your faith immediately can cause all sorts of problems. Sometimes, people believe that they may only have one interaction with someone, and they must share their faith or they are not a faithful witness. I have found over may roles in many jobs that a slower approach has more impact. Developing trust is the first step to having a credible witness among co-workers.

About Bob Meredith

I have been an Independent Insurance Agent, Delivery Driver for UPS, Campus Pastor at West Virginia University, Pastor, and Workforce Management Analyst. With such a wide range o experiences, I have encountered a multitude of situations where I was challenged to live out my faith. As a pastor, I was expected to be spiritual, but in the professional world, wearing my faith on my sleeve was not expected. In fact, in many cases, my immediate leadership was not supportive of my lived out faith. For the past 5 years, I have been almost exclusively remote, working from home. And that presents huge challenges. My first step in each role have been in has always been relationships. Get to know the people I work with. Then let them see that my word means something. Let them see that I am not a slacker. The goal is always trust. Then once I feel that they trust me, I can begin talking about Jesus, God, the Bible, church, faith, and all of the things that really matter
